Exactly what the software testing community has been waiting for! A great year 2013 for software testers – first the launch of Quick Software Testing blog (shameless promotion, I know! :P) and now, the announcement about Software Testing Awards to promote excellence and innovation in the field of software testing.
What is The European Software Testing Awards (TESTA)?
TESTA, short name for “The European Software Testing Awards” is an independent awards programme organized to celebrate and promote excellence, best practices and innovations in the field of Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
The main aim of TESTA is to commend the individuals, project teams, and businesses that are actively involved in the pursuit of technological perfection in QA industry and bring in to the spotlight those that have excelled within the testing community over the last 12 months.
TESTA website was revealed to the public in April this year – you can enrol for participation nominating your team, business and an individual for the awards using the process explained on the website (more details and links below!). It also lists down all that you need to know about the European Software Testing Awards London 2013.
The website (link) includes some crucial information like, Who is eligible for TESTA, Venue details, Key Dates, and additional details like judges panel for TESTA 2013, and latest news.
Why Should You Participate in TESTA?
I feel TESTA is a great opportunity for the testing community to be recognized and acknowledged as a whole for some of the great talent in the software testing industry. Although, awards is not the only thing you should strive for, but for me, with such recognition comes self belief to continue delivering the best you can. Also, it can act as a motivator in your otherwise ‘a bit’ boring daily 9-5 job.
In addition to this, as these awards are backed by an influential software testing magazine called “Test Magazine”, you can expect extensive PR & marketing collateral that is produced by the editorial team. Also, entering TESTA opens up your profile among some of the most influential people in European business – it will highlight, acknowledge, and reward the efforts of individuals/teams/projects/businesses providing 12 months of acclaim, exposure, and industry wide recognition.
Plus, if you are a business, TESTA can be a proof for you to impress partners, clients and investors!
Entry Fee
To participate in TESTA, you need to pay an entry fee of £195 + VAT per entry (non-refundable). If you end up being on the list of finalists, a copy of the European Software Testing Benchmark Report will be provided to you at end of the awards.
